Paris Day Four!

Well hello there everyone. It's late (surprise), so I'm going to skip the formalities(formalities?!), and cut right to the chase!
We started out our day at a cute little fresh fruit stand.
And then headed over to the Pompidou Centre, which is an excellent modern art museum. Oh, modern art..
First, a photo of the exterior! The Pompidou is designed to have all the interior building framework on the outside, so you can see the skeleton of the building.

That tube like thing along the side is a continuous series of escalators designed to get you to all the exhibits with less exhaustion than the huge museum would incur otherwise.

Up the tube! Pardon the sunlight camera streaks, it was very sunny today. In fact, I even got a slight sunburn. Because why would my skin tan, really?

The piece at the entrance.
The museum is filled with all different types and times of modern art, varying from sort of okay to disturbing. Seeing a good piece and idea, in my mind, is like seeing a spring flower in an ice storm.
A few pieces that I thought to photograph.
That one is a Pablo Picasso. The museum is full of his work.
There is an Andy Warhol. They only appear to have one of his pieces.
There were also walk-in art installments. Such as these. They move, so a photo does little justice.
You could walk in this room.
The lights cast shadows on the wall from the spinning figurines.
Aluminum foil shaped like praying women.
Hanging and waving spices.
My favorite. A color wheel room you could move around, and watch the color change.
I will now share a few personal pictures of mum and I's experience with the art.
My favorite series.
Truly appreciating this "art".
Profoundly impacted by this piece.
A Jackson Pollock. What? Everyone doesn't get this excited?
Mum could've hopped right in!
Seriously, Pollock's are a big deal.
Mind blowing work.
Then we stepped outside for a gorgeous city view..
And at the same time, the promised pictures of mum's dress.
Ta da! Or as the French say, "Voila!"
Here is my dress's back.
You can see the Eiffel Tower in the distance of the pictures!
A victim of the Pompidou.
But we had a marvelous time, even just to criticize (which we mostly did).
After seeing Pompidou, I feel like I've been intellectually brightened and generally more educated in my mind. Are those the same thing? Oh well, put them both on a canvas side by side and call it Warhol.
The birds flying over the pavilion where we ate lunch.
Then moved on to France's Pantheon. The Pantheon honors the people of France who have died with great honor.
Astounding architecture, and interesting history.
It was a very informational visit.
We saw a rare cafe today. They sold French food. (Realllyy?!)
Then we went to the Musee Cluney. It is an old Renaissance Church, truly amazing.
Lots of restored tapestries.
Some of the ceilings.
Statues from the 1400 and 1500s.
Old rings from the church ad such.
There was a large outdoor chess set in the courtyard of the museum!
At this point, we wrapped it all up, we're getting pretty worn out at night now, and I had something to do back at the apartment.
Now, we haven't talked about food yet, and that's not okay. So here are some pictures of a new pastry shop!
And mum out front, looking fabulous munching on her tart.
For dinner we had a salad and a pizza. The pizza was with ham and mozzarella, which was great with my tomato allergy. No pictures, but the meal was amazing.
Closing note you might not know: in France they crack raw eggs over pizzas. Not sure why, but I don't like it. Mum does though.
Mum is sound asleep now, and I should be too because it's almost one.
Farewell, until tomorrow,
~Roaming Rapunzel
